The Japanese car manufacturer is remaining tight-lipped on some of the truck’s key technical specifications like its fuel economy and tow ball weight with plans to announce additional details later in the year. What we do know at this stage is that the 2021 BT-50 has a towing capacity of 7,716 lbs (3,500 kg) and a payload capacity of over 2,200 lbs (1,000 kg).
A host of safety systems have landed as standard equipment with the new truck. These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Australian sales of the 2021 Mazda BT-50 will start later this year with pricing details to be announced at a later date.
